“We’ve gotten so many phone calls about the project," said Lauren Glynn, the school principal.
Student council and a number of teams and committees worked to have the flags on display.
The program was initiated two years ago by former Supt. Paul J. Saxton.
Members of the community have bought thousands of the $1 flags since last month, in time for the dedication ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 11 at 2 p.m. All proceeds from the flag sales benefit the Fort Lee VFW Post 2342.
School music groups will perform in the auditorium before invited guests Mayor Mark Sokolich, Freeholder Chairwoman Joan Voss and a number of veterans.
“This year, they’ve asked for more music,” Glynn said. “So we will had a few extra musical numbers.”
The police department donated lights to keep the lawn bright overnight.
A list of heroes appears on the school’s and borough's websites.
